Agency Endowment Funds

A non-profit organization or agency may establish endowment funds with the Foundation for management and investment purposes. The Foundation regularly distributes the annual income back into the organizations and agencies for operating the programs of the agencies.

Starke United, Inc. Fund

Established in 2000 for purpose of promoting improvement of Starke United, Inc.

Donor Advised Funds

Gives the donor the advantage of assisting in charity selection each year, but allows the donor exemption from federal restrictions placed on private foundations. The Foundation's Board of Directors, however, makes the final decision for the grants in accordance with Federal Tax Code regulations.

1st Source Bank

Established in 1997 to support local charitable and tax exempt purposes.

Railroad Twp/San Pierre Alumni Scholarship Foundation Fund

Established in 1998 to provide scholarships.

NIPSCO Endowment Fund

Established in 1998 to provide support to a resident of Starke County attending the SCILL Center.

Field of Interest Funds

Allows the donor to respond to certain program areas, such as youth, education, health, environment, etc. Grants made from these funds specify the field of interest, but not the charitable agency.

Richard Cassidy Community Philanthropic Fund

Established in July 2003 by NICF. The purpose is to promote education and public awareness of community philanthropy and other appropriate philanthropic activities in the counties served by the Northern Indiana Community Foundation, Inc.

Maude Brown and Henry F. Schricker Endowment Fund

Established in 1998 to provide support to selected Starke County fourth-grade history projects or tours.

Unrestricted Fund

The unrestricted fund helps to improve the quality of life in the community. Rather than benefiting a single fund it is designed to provide help to the community in a variety of creative and flexible ways. It truly makes a difference right here in Starke County. Hundreds of Starke County residents have benefited from this fund this year alone.

Arlowa S. Vorm Memorial Fund

Established in January 2004 by Fred Vorm to provide support for charitable or other exempt purposes.

Schuyler Family Endowment Fund

Established in 1998 to provide support to the Starke County Unrestricted Fund.

The Freedom Fund

Established in 2002 to provide support for charitable purposes.

Non-Permanent Funds

These funds are typically established at the request of a donor to provide support from fund principal for charitable recipients recommended by the donor. The recommendations must be advisory only, and the foundation must be free to reject any recommendation.

HOSPICE Program of Starke County Pass-Through Fund

Established in September 2003 by Starke Memorial Hospital to support the charitable intentions of the Hospice Program of Starke County.

Healthy Families Program of Starke County Pass-Through Fund

Established in September 2003 by Starke Memorial Hospital to support the charitable intentions of the Healthy Families Program of Starke County.
